More thoughts on my bedroom....

As I ponder updates to our bedroom, I have been focusing on our bedding.  Now, that I have decided I want a linen upholstered headboard, I find that I am leaning towards all white bedding with a touch of color/pattern here and there.

PB is having 20% off their white sale so I purchased two of the PB Essentials white standard shams for only $14 each!!   And, since I have a soft spot for monogramming and it was free, I had them monogrammed.  I'm looking forward to getting them and seeing how they look!

Of course, now I want new nightstands, lamps, etc.  The list goes on and on.....

Hanna's Home Tour

Many of you have already seen Hanna Seabrook's home tour via glitter guide or pinterest,  but I just had to capture some of my favorite images for future reference and study.

What amazes me is she has already achieved such a collected, lived in and comfortable space at such a young age (I don't believe she is even 30 years old).  Her home has that perfect 'undecorated' style that really resonates with me.

See more here.

More of Lewis and Riley

I don't know about you, but when I get fixated on something (for the house) I try to see if I can find other bloggers and/or designers who have used similar products in either their homes or projects.  In the case of the Lewis and Riley upholstered headboards from Pottery Barn, I found some bloggers/designers who have purchased these headboards.

This is the master bedroom from Grace Happens.  My husband particularly likes how how this Lewis Headboard (pictured above) is monogrammed.  I like it too, but I think I will save the monogram for the shams.

Sherry, from Design Indulgence, knocked this bedroom out of the park (in my humble opinion) when she decorated her nephew's bedroom using the Lewis headboard.

Holly used the Riley headboard in her master bedroom.  So femnine and romantic.  She particularly likes how tall it is and comfortable to lean on while reading/blogging in bed.

Christine used the Riley headboard in her master bedroom too.  I love how fresh her bed looks with all the aqua touches!

If you know of any other bloggers or designers that you have used either one of these headboards, I'd love to know more!

On a seperate note, I'm thinking about our fellow Bostonians today (and all those at the marathon).  Praying for you.  God Bless.

Upholstered Headboards

I've been shopping around for upholstered headboards.  At this point in my life, I'm all about ease and budget so here are a couple I am thinking about:

the Lewis Headboard (above) and the Riley Headboard (below) both from PB (I know...not the most original) but I am leaning towards them because they have a simple and classic shape that will never go out of style.  They are also slipcovered and when you have children (and just finished a week where the little one had the stomach flu) the idea of washing the slipcover is attractive.

I go back and forth between the two because I don't know which shape appeals to me more - the rectangular or the camelback.  I like them both.

Ballard's has the Stevenson frame which is sorta like the marriage of the two shapes above.  They offer various fabric options including sunbrella.  The height of the Stevenson is 54" (same as the Lewis above), however the Riley is 62" high!  I taped both silhouettes out with painter's tape and I really like the height of the Riley eventhough we barely have 7 foot ceilings.

So, since we're on the topic, do you have a tried and true favorite when it comes to an upholstered headboard?

Gold, White & Gray

I love the color combo gold, white and gray lately and am finding it in various interior settings.

Love this kitchen.  You get the gold from the textured wallpaper, white from the cabinets and gray from the awesome floor, marble and stainless steel appliances.  I also like the pops of green.

Another great example.  Gold from the textured wallpaper and lamp.  White from the wainscoting and gray from the chrome bar cart.  Oh, and do you notice the pop of green!

Another example.  I don't have to spell it out - you get it, right? Pretty awesome.  Notice the pop of green from the wellies!

Anyway, this color-way is the inspiration for our little kitchen nook (corner) that serves as a catch-all for everything!!  Stay tuned!
